Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
- Trains General Managers and Shift Leads in effective techniques for training, such as new employees’ on-boarding, on-the-job training, sales techniques, health and safety practices, management development, and adaptations to changes in policies, procedures, and technologies.
- Participate in evaluation and monitoring of success of training; follow-up to ensure training objectives are met.
- Ensure that on boarding is effective and consistent and that all new management onboarding practices and tools are being utilized and evaluated for effectiveness.
- Identifies and creates a leadership development program to ensure all management and potential management have the necessary skills to succeed.
- Develops, maintains and updates on-boarding materials.
- Coordinates and delivers management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
- Verify safety procedures are being met and conduct periodic observation at each location.
- Augment existing safety policies with new policies when appropriate.
- Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
- Maintain OSHA logs, report logs ensuring compliance with government agency.
Technical Requirements – Education, Areas of Knowledge and Experience:
- An experienced leader and trainer with 5 years’ experience in the training industry.
- Experience in hospitality is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor.
- An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
- Organized and self-directed individual who has “political savvy” and is a team player.
- An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient in latest business office software.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
